On the Road
High winds and hard rain were my companions this morning when I started my journey north, this, the first leg of my adventure to Alaska. Hopefully it will be all I see of the spring squalls for the next three weeks. My goal for today was Astoria Oregon, 7 or so hours from Brookings. I made it to Long Beach, Washington. I have always been curious about this area and since I have a few days until the Ferry leaves out of Bellingham, I thought I would check it out. Too tired now to do more than watch HBO in my hotel room. Tomorrow I will venture out. Gratitude to Jock for taking on miss Emma. He has his own adventure awaiting him with three dogs to care for, and to my brother John who is making this possible.

Whew! You made it far on the first trip.
Long beach Washington- whats it like?
love you!
touristy - not too much to do accept walk through stores with cheap souveniers. Beach has no agates and dangerous surf.
