A Great Surprise!

That is my Erin smiling in the shadows and Jessica planting some herbs for me. They surprised me for my birthday, Mothers Day and Gram's birthday. I have them until Sunday and my house is transformed into a happy, lively place again. With Cuban-African Jazz music playing, rhythmic drums sounds bouncing off the walls and winding its way into the back yard, we are enjoying the beautiful weather. Talk and laughter flow and good foods grace my table. What fun to have them here. Tonight we will visit the galleries for the Saturday Art Walk.

Erin is napping now. She seems content to come home and catch up. Her life is busy and stressful in the Bay Area but she loves it. Nice she can come here and regroup. Jess seems content to read and soak up the sun. It is boring here in comparison to their lives at home but maybe if we call it relaxing they will come back again.

The girls are involved in a dance group and have some great new steps they have been practicing that involve an interesting mixture of Salsa, Cuban and African moves. They are taking a trip in August to participate in some ethnic dance classes.

The blanket Erin is wrapped up in is a very old blanket that I remember from my childhood. It has kept all of us (me and my four siblings warm)
for as long as I can remember. It was nice to see Erin bundled up in it as we watched a movie.

They leave in the morning and I won't see them again for long while but I can't wait to hear the stories from their adventures. Gratitude to my thoughtful daughter and her friend who made the long trek to help us celebrate. Safe travels girls.

A lovely tribute to our girl(s).That blanket was purchased at J.C.Penny in Spokane, Washington some fifty years ago after we arrived on our fist cross country trip. You were two months old. I have the matching blanket here. You are right, all of you used it to keep warm and feel safe. Love you, Gracie, thanks for the memory.
