Is it me?

Remember when you got what you paid for? These days prices are double and triple and rise by the dollar and not just cents every week. Packages are made to look the same but your favorite cereal box only holds two small bowls full where as before it would last a few weeks. Your favorite package of cookies now holds much less and costs much more.

Not to be out done, the car wash . . .  The automatic car wash here in town now costs $10.00 and does a respectable job. It used to be $4.00 then $6.00 . . . . well you get it.  Normally I would silently complain and count my dollar bills to get the convenience of the automatic wash & rinse with liquid polish to finish it off for a shiny clean vehicle.

That was not an option today and my car was covered with bird sh*t and seasonal pollen.  Next to the automatic drive through are several high powered do-it-your self car wash bays. For what used to be pocket change you could use their facilities and your own muscle, sweat and energy, save a few dollars and do it yourself. I found it had gone from $1.25 in quarters to $2.50 for a wash. So, okay I got my sleeves rolled up and I get started. I pre-washed and power washed and got the big foamy brush going. As fast as I could I scrubbed it down and . . .

Nothing . . . it stopped, cut me off!  I had two more quarters in my pocket. The car was covered with soap and no way to rinse it off. That didn't happen the last time I did this. I had time left over. The nerve of these greedy business owners. Even if I had the money I was not going to feed it to get additional minutes of which I only need a few to rinse. SO off I went suds and all into traffic to rinse off at home. I am sure I gave people quite a laugh. Well at least something good came out of it. And no it's not just me but that does not make me feel better.
