LEGACY

Reading from my most recent blog post all the way to the the beginning, I realize I have left a piece of myself. Words are powerful, and sometimes painful. I know when I am gone my daughter can look back and laugh at some of the memories. My mother has left a mountain of them for us to read when she is gone. Someday maybe a grandchild will learn more about her grandmother and great grandmother by their shared stories. I hope you are writing down your tales.

My friend has a treasure chest of stories and a wealth of knowledge locked away in his head. He does not feel he is a good writer so does not put them down on paper or blog for others to read. That is tragic as most will be lost when he passes on. I know his family would cherish those memories and others would learn from and enjoy reading his tales and adventures. Like holding an old photo of a family gathering one will never forget that occasion same with revisiting ones version of stories on a blog.

Old memories are old friends. Thoughts and feelings, adventures, even fears and opinions of another time is entertaining and enlightening. I can hear my daughter laughing someday as she goes back for a peek. Spelling errors, grammar mistakes all add to the charm. Don't let that stop you get busy.
