The Alaska Marine Highway system has a series of ferry boats running along the inland channels to various points in Alaska. It runs at a snails pace 16 knots - I think that is about 20 mph. Mild temperatures, calm waters and interesting characters filled my time over the last several days. Pods of Orca whales, porpoises, eagles, and glaciers gave me plenty to photograph. What an amazing journey. Settled in for the night in Northern Canada. Not sure my hotel was a good choice. John says to call the Canadian Mounties if I have any trouble. Tomorrow I am headed for Tok Alaska. The roads are reportedly a mess so it will be a long trek. More soon.
