Spring 09

Spring storms are upon us. The winds howl and rain falls. 35 degrees one day and 70 the next. My mother calls this pneumonia weather. Trees are budding and spring flowers coming up, the grass grows visibly and the yard work mounts, RV parks are filling up and the traffic is getting heavy. The ling cod are being caught at an alarming rate. (Alarming, that is, unless they end up on my dinner plate) All signs of spring. Jock tells me we will be trout fishing soon and going out for the Spring Salmon (Kings I think) which will be great fun except for the bucket thing . . . They are delicious eating but unfortunately wild ones are illegal to keep and the wild ones are the ones you catch most. I may be writing this from the poky next time. Too much temptation for me.


We have had the pleasure of John's company for the past month or so but he is looking for a new job to take him away. Possibly as far as Africa next time. A place called Djibouti between Somalia and Ethiopia in the Eastern part of Africa. Those are his new neighbors. It is still just in the planning stages but what an adventure that would be!

It has almost been a year since I started this Blog. This has been an adventure in it's own way. I would recommend it to anyone. The best part of this is reading other's Blogs and getting peoples comments on my own tall tales. There are some really interesting people out there and perusing blogs is a great way to find out what others are interested in and what is happening in their lives. Good ideas, stories and pictures are being shared on the Internet. Unfortunately I spend far too much time at the computer. When the rain ceases I will be out planting and mowing and fishing so that won't be a problem for long.

I am off to brave the weather and take mom grocery shopping. Funny how busy things get at the store when the storms hit. Everyone thinks of all the things they need if they get stuck and run out to buy it only to have the storm past and the sun shine again. Have a great day. Peace.
