Update

We have had a rare glimpse of summer in January. It has been strange. Almost feeling guilty for enjoying it and knowing it is not going to last and we will have a big cold wet price to pay soon, I fight the urge to go out and plant things. A nice break from a usually dark time of year. I look for opportunities for a new outdoor adventure but everyone is busy working.

My brother is driving across country after taking his friend home . . . all the way to Delaware. Quite a ride. Erin is busy working (teaching), dancing (learning new African dance moves), snow boarding (got a black eye eating snow!) etc. She is all moved into her new place and seems very happy with it. Anxious for a visit and to check things out, I am headed in that direction in a few weeks. Mom is talking herself in and out and back into a trip to Seattle and Reno. She is not looking forward to facing all the travel dilemmas. Can't blame her.

Fisherman have been venturing out with only average days. It is still a bit early for the ling cod spawning, but it has been beautiful and the ocean conditions excellent. SO tempting to jump the gun. Crab season seems to be ending early as the majority of the recent hauls have come in with soft shells. Molting early can't be a good sign of our environment.

My walks have returned in earnest. Proof being sore legs and a pink nose. That is all my news. I hope you have laughingly endured my ramblings and silly musings. Blessings.
