Lunacy

Lunacy: intermittent insanity, madness, wild foolishness and extravagant folly brought on by the cycles of the moon. We had a beautiful full moon this week. It hung heavy in the sky, so close that if you held your arm up high and stood on your tip toes and really reached you might just touch it. Illumination from it was so bright you could walk in the normally dark hours. The pull of it was strong. If you are sensitive to these things, and we all are, you could feel its effect. Moon cycles make for greater ebb and flow - higher high and low minus tides. People seemed abnormally happy. That was probably due to the warm weather and clear sky we were blessed with this week after so much cold and rain.

Considering our bodies are up to 90% water it is no wonder things can go awry at a full moon. A sense of humor is needed. I try to take all the mishaps with a laugh knowing that things are a bit off kilter and in a few short days life will return to a more normal state.

During the full moon the fishing in the ocean is not as good. I realize many people think that is a myth but in all the years I have been here watching and listening to the reports, the bite is off when the moon is full. Did you know that Seahorses are born on a full moon? So many things unknowingly influence us. I am grateful to be part of this fascinating and crazy place.
