What a great week it has been. Shhh don't tell anybody but the weather has been perfect. In the 70's in November! I spent yesterday hunting for mushrooms and shooting a rifle with a scope at evil tin cans. Rest assured the world is safe from those bad bad cans although my friend is out 20 cents at the recycle center.
A storm is finally moving in. We are patiently waiting for the water levels to rise in the river so the Steelhead can move up and we have another excuse to go out and fish.
The Port has gotten into the spirit of the season and the lights are up. They have placed a huge tree in the center at the boardwalk. It was a lovely sight this morning all lit up but with the high winds we get I doubt it will stay standing long. Some of the boat owners decorate their vessels with brightly colored lights for a local contest. It is fun to see them and when this happens I will post a picture. I was lucky enough to judge the contest several years in a row for the Garden Club. Hard to make a decision when they are all so beautiful.
Azalea Park has Natures Coastal Holidays open again. Dozens of volunteers and sponsors light up the park with festive scenes and nautical themes. It is quite a sight and they add a little more every year. My photos came out fuzzy so I will spare you the headache.
Gratitude for those that expend such effort to decorate for all to enjoy and spread the holiday spirit.
